Sunflower pricing starts with hull, wax, and container decisions

The same press can sit in a whole-seed crude-oil mill, a kernel cold-press line, a dewaxed clear-oil program, or a refined retail plant; those are different quotes.

Send seed form, dehulling target, cold or hot route, wax strategy, final container, byproduct outlet, utilities, tanks, and phase boundary before pricing.

Hull decision

Whole seed, partial dehull, clean kernel, residual hull target, and hull outlet.

Wax decision

Settling only, dewaxing, polishing filtration, refining handoff, or retail cold-test target.

Container decision

Bulk tank, flexi-bag, tin, PET, glass, pouch, or private-label retail pack.

Sunflower storage and filling handoff reference
Scope handoff

From press room to tank, bottle, or bulk truck

Pricing should follow the real handoff point, not a vague request for a sunflower oil machine.

Project fork

First separate the four sunflower project types

Whole-seed crude oil

Simpler front end, darker oil, more wax and hull influence, usually bulk or refinery handoff.

Kernel cold press

Needs better dehulling, lower-temperature discipline, lighter oil positioning, and honest output expectations.

Dewaxed clear oil

Adds chilling, hold time, filter capacity, cold-test agreement, and clean post-filter tanks.

Refined retail oil

Adds degumming, neutralization, bleaching, deodorization, filling, label, and carton boundary.

Configuration conditions

Information that changes sunflower pricing

  • Feed form: whole seed, partial dehull, prepared kernels, high-oleic, regular linoleic, or mixed lots.
  • Route target: cold pressed light oil, hot pressed standard oil, crude bulk, dewaxed oil, refined oil, bottled retail oil.
  • Output: kg or tons per shift, working hours, batch labor, and whether output must include filtration or only pressing.
  • Post-press: settling time, filter type, cold-test target, dewaxing hold time, refining steps, tank volume, filling speed.
  • By-products: hull outlet, cake sale/use, cake size, bagging, conveyor, silo, or manual collection.

Offer boundary

Name what is included and excluded

  • Included: equipment, motors, control cabinet, basic wearing parts, drawings, packing, commissioning guidance, or spare parts package.
  • Excluded unless requested: civil work, air compressor, boiler, chiller, piping installation, filling-room construction, labels, bottles, and local permits.
  • If refining or filling is expected, say whether it is first-phase equipment or only a future connection point.

Send sunflower seed photos, target oil, and final pack

A short video of the existing workshop plus raw seed and oil samples usually answers more than a long text description.
